Successful Conversions
Driving technology for the ocean industry
Our first conversion project, the Alutasi, was the first boat in Canada operated by lithium-ion batteries approved by Transport Canada. The project was completed in 2020, and since then, our conversion kit has been updated and developed to become what it is now.
This ongoing project includes a customized version of our vessel electric propulsion kit, which includes two modes of operation: full-electric mode, with power supplied from batteries and diesel-electric mode, with power supplied from a new efficient diesel generator.
The Sea Cucumber is Glas Ocean Electric’s newest research vessel. This fall, the Cucumber will undergo electric conversion and the newest conversion kit, Hybrid Marine, will be installed.
